  • Digital illustration

  • Tote bag design

This tote bag design was created for a competition hosted by Oakland University’s Department of Art, Art History, and Design. The concept highlights the connection between graphic design and traditional studio art, such as painting. My design was selected as one of the three winning entries and was produced for distribution at various university events.

The process for creating this design involved hand drawn sketches of multiple ideas and iterations, eventually landing on the idea of squids. The design features squids as they tie to art through ink. Additionally, their figure allows for a dynamic design and the incorporation of motion. The laptop and paint brush are connected to illustrate the connection between art and design and how they can work together.
